Just blogging about the 3 "R's". Recipes. Reviews. Rants.

Homemade Mayonnaise!

Thats right my friends you read it right! You can make mayo at home, and save yourself $4.00! YAY!

In the recipe I am posting I doubled it. So just to make it easy on you guys at the very bottom I will put the amounts for a 16oz jar (approximate).

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 4 cups vegetable oil (Or EVOO)

In your food processor or blender, combine the mustard powder, salt, eggs and vinegar.

Set your device on Medium or Low and give it a mix, and get your oil ready.

Gradually start to drizzle in the oil while your device is on medium or low.

As you are pouring you will notice your mayo forming. :-)

And what is this?? Beautiful!

Transfer your Mayo into a super sexy Mason jar. And put it in the fridge! Your mayo will stay good for 2 weeks.

Now tell me you aren’t totally surprised how easy this is! I do suggest you to do the small quantity since the mayo stays good for 2 weeks, unless of course your family are huge mayo eaters. I made double because I have a few recipes planned that call for mayo, and I will also be making some Ranch Dressing later.

Be creative with your mayo! If you prefer Miracle Whip just add a tablespoon or two of sugar to your mayo.

Here is the recipe for the smaller batch, the same instructions apply!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
